Superintendent - Structural Masonry
Job Description
This role leads all field operations for structural masonry projects in the Salt Lake City and broader Utah market. The Superintendent oversees masonry construction in the field, manages foremen and crews, and partners closely with leadership, Project Managers, and General Contractors to deliver high-quality projects safely, on time, and within budget. The position also contributes to preconstruction and estimating efforts and plays a key role in growing the regional presence, with management support based out of Lenexa, KS.
Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site activities for Division 4 masonry projects, including block, brick, stone, and structural masonry systems.
- Supervise and coordinate foremen and field crews, currently overseeing multiple foremen with plans for team growth.
- Manage daily site operations, including scheduling, manpower planning, and production tracking to meet project goals.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, and in alignment with established quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship, enforce safety protocols, and maintain compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate closely with Project Managers to align field execution with project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Collaborate with General Contractors and other subcontractors to maintain a seamless workflow and resolve field coordination issues.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or productivity challenges, and take proactive action to keep projects on track.
- Oversee material deliveries, equipment utilization, and jobsite logistics to support efficient field operations.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, progress updates, and project documentation using construction management tools.
- Assist in bid reviews, budgeting, and constructability analysis for upcoming masonry projects.
- Provide field-based expertise on labor needs, production rates, and construction sequencing during preconstruction.
- Support project setup, scope reviews, and handoffs from estimators to ensure a smooth transition into field execution.
- Utilize construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and related tools for project tracking and communication.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with General Contractors, Project Managers, and subcontractors to help win and successfully execute work.
- Mentor, coach, and develop field personnel to strengthen team capabilities and support long-term growth in the Utah market.
Essential Skills
- 20+ years of experience in masonry and commercial construction.
- 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent, preferably leading field operations on commercial masonry projects.
- Extensive experience in structural masonry, including brick, block, stone, and related systems.
- Proven ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Experience using project tracking and construction management software, including Procore and Bluebeam.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and grow field teams in a commercial construction environment.
- Strong communication and coordination skills when working with General Contractors, Project Managers, and subcontractors.
- Proactive problem-solving approach with a focus on productivity, efficiency, and high-quality project delivery.
- Hands-on expertise in construction supervision and subcontractor management within masonry and commercial construction.

Work Environment
This is an on-site, field-based role that involves regular travel throughout the Utah market, with primary focus on the Salt Lake City area. The Superintendent spends the majority of time on active commercial construction sites overseeing structural masonry work, coordinating with field teams, and interacting with General Contractors and subcontractors. Management support and oversight for this position are based in Lenexa, KS, requiring effective remote coordination with leadership. The work environment is fast-paced, schedule-driven, and centered around masonry construction operations, utilizing tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and other construction management technologies to track progress and communicate with project stakeholders.

This is a Permanent position based out of Salt Lake City, UT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
Internal benefits for BSM, PTO, Health, Dental, Profit Sharing for Salaried employees, Bonuses based on division growth.
