General Laborer Job Description This role supports a long-term, high-end residential demolition project by performing site cleanup, assisting with material deliveries, and helping maintain a safe and organized work area. You will work closely with the project team to ensure the site remains clean, secure, and ready for ongoing construction activities. Responsibilities Perform daily site cleanup, including removal of debris, sweeping, and organizing materials to maintain a safe and orderly work area. Assist with material deliveries by unloading, moving, and staging materials in designated areas on the jobsite. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to support demolition and construction activities as directed. Block off entries and exit ways to control access and help maintain a secure and safe work zone. Drill plywood and assist with temporary protections or barriers as needed for the project. Follow directions from project leadership and coordinate tasks with the field team to support project schedules. Adhere to all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and compliance with site safety requirements. Support various general construction labor tasks as needed throughout the duration of the project. Essential Skills Experience performing general labor duties on construction sites. Ability to perform thorough site cleanup, including debris removal and organization of materials. Hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools in a construction environment. Familiarity with blocking off entries and exit ways to maintain safe and secure work areas. Ability to assist with material deliveries, including unloading, moving, and staging materials. Current OSHA 30 certification. Current Site Safety Training (SST) certification. Ability to follow safety protocols and instructions from project leadership. Additional Skills & Qualifications High-end residential construction or demolition experience preferred. Comfort working on long-term projects with evolving site conditions. You will report directly to the project management team on site and use standard construction tools and personal protective equipment, including a hard hat provided after one month. The role requires appropriate work attire suitable for a construction site, including safety gear and durable clothing. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00/hr.
