You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the TEST ENGINEERING & PLANNING DIVISION, ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMEN T of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. GS-14
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience providing Hull, Mechanical, Electrical (HM&E) test program preparations for ships in support of maintenance overhaul and repair of nuclear-powered submarines; manage, plan, and execution of the overall test program for all ship work.
  • Experience interpreting engineering principles such as Thermodynamics, fluid flow, physics, electrical, heat transfer, as they apply to submarine system design, construction and operation.
  • Experience accounting for the technical adequacy, proper sequencing, and effective execution of a test program involving electrical and mechanical systems in nuclear powered submarines.
  • Experience planning work to be completed by subordinates and assigns work based on functional responsibilities, priorities, their abilities.
