Duct Installer Jobs in Connecticut

A Duct Installer in the construction industry is primarily responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems. They interpret blueprints to determine the appropriate location and method for installing ductwork, cut and shape duct channels as needed, and secure the ducts with brackets. Duct Installers may also troubleshoot HVAC systems and present cost estimates to clients. They are often required to coordinate with other construction professionals, like engineers and architects, to ensure the smooth integration of the HVAC system into the larger construction project.

Key skills for a Duct Installer include mechanical skills, detail orientation, physical strength and stamina, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints. They should have a good understanding of HVAC systems and safety protocols. A certification from a recognized technical school or apprenticeship program in HVAC can be beneficial. Prior to becoming a Duct Installer, individuals may work as HVAC Helpers, HVAC Technicians, or Construction Laborers to gain relevant experience and skills in the field.
