Sr Estimator

Hays is working with a well-respected contractor who is a New York-based landscape construction and maintenance firm specializing in complex public and private spaces. They focus on large-scale projects, logistically challenging sites, and urban environments with high public scrutiny, as well as landscape construction, irrigation, and maintenance services. They have been in business since 1975 and serve the New York Metro area. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop comprehensive estimates. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive bids. Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for estimates. Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes. Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software. Participate in pre-bid meetings and presentations. Provide support during contract negotiations and project planning phases. Monitor industry trends and developments to ensure competitive pricing. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 5-10 years of experience in construction and estimating civil infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost factors. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. Proficiency in HCSS and Heavy Bid and Microsoft Suite. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
