- Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, and related documents to assess time, cost, and labor needs.
- Develop scopes of work and risk assessments with mitigation strategies.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier relationships, including bid solicitation and evaluation.
- Perform take-offs and pricing using both estimating software and traditional methods.
- Collaborate with operations to ensure a smooth project transition.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to fully understand project scopes.
- Maintain current market data and cost history tools.
- Present estimates, strategies, and assumptions to company leadership.
- Support business development through budgeting and client engagement.
- 3+ years of construction estimating experience, with 2+ years in a lead role preferred.
- Deep knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to build and maintain subcontractor/vendor relationships.
- Experience with estimation, construction management, and bidding.
- Proficiency in Excel and estimating software.
- Knowledge in commercial construction and construction estimating.
The work schedule is from 8AM to 4PM, Monday to Friday. The role includes site visits and coordination with subcontractors, with a focus on estimating the full scope of projects, which are primarily subcontracted. The construction groundwork encompasses electrical and mechanical scopes. The company offers a small business environment with a tight-knit crew, flexibility, and opportunities for growth.
