Review project scope reports, narratives, 2D or 3D construction drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects including mechanical, plumbing, fire protection systems for all levels of design (schematic, design development and, construction documents). Work with the design team including architects, structural engineers, geotech engineers, and MEP engineers and collaborate with project owners, design teams, and subject-matter-experts to ascertain an accurate perspective of the total project scope, level of design discipline coordination, adequacy of details, and project constructability. Manage a team of cost estimators to document all portions of the estimate in a logical, consistent, and legible manner consistent with industry standard classification systems such as the American Society for Testing and Materials Uniformat or Construction Specifications Institute MasterFormat systems. Attend project site tours, scope meetings, reconciliation meetings and project kick-off meetings. Price various design alternatives, to allow the design team to evaluate alternative building systems to make informed alternatives analysis decisions to advance the design progress. Perform accurate and thorough quantity take-offs using 2D/3D estimating software like onscreen takeoffs, Bluebeam, Revit, etc., to determine quantity and magnitude of construction scope items. Develop unit costs accurately from market analysis, cost databases like RS means, state prevailing wages, and vendor bids.Required Travel: 25% Domestic TravelPrimary educational/experiential requirements: Bachelor's degree in architecture, civil engineering, structural engineering, construction management, or a related field, and five years of construction project management or cost controls related experience. Skill Requirements: Experience completing take off (measurement of quantities) reports; ability to produce accurate cost estimates from high level concept estimates through detailed construction document estimates; experience generating value engineering ideas to reduce cost while maintaining quality; experience Liaising with architects and engineers and reconciliation with Construction Managers or other estimating offices; experience using advanced 2D/3D estimating software including eTakeoff, ProEst, CostX, Bluebeam, or Revit to determine quantity and magnitude of construction scope items; experience following project management institute (PMI) guidelines on levels of accuracy and precision, rules of performance measurement, and preparing accurate time, cost, material, and labor estimates for all levels of design; experience preparing construction schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project software; knowledge of construction techniques and systems, structural design principles, and sizing of MEP equipment on design loadsMinimum Salary: 110531Maximum Salary: 110531Salary Unit: Yearly
