Local, mid-sized commercial and residential builder is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for determining the total cost of construction projects. Your responsibilities include conducting thorough research, analyzing data, and interpreting plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates. Our ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the construction process, excellent mathematical skills. Qualifications: 1. Proficient with all technical building skills. 2. Previous experience in commercial and residential building construction estimating, reading and understanding construction plans and specifications. 3. Proficient with technology including estimating software. 4. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. 5. Highly organized, detail oriented with the ability to estimate and update multiple estimates on an ongoing basis. 6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 7 Maintain a positive attitude, demonstrate professional customer service skills and maintain constructive working relationships with other employees, subcontractors and clients. 8. Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions. 9. Mechanical aptitude with ability to complete required mathematical calculations. 10. Ability to work under pressure; manage multiple deadlines and within a team environment to best achieve accurate and timely results. 11. College degree or equivalent combination of training and/or field experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Analyze blueprints, plans, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops. Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Present prepared estimates for management to use in planning and organizing project budgets. Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors. Use computer software to calculate estimates and evaluate a project's financial feasibility. Assist in pricing on options and providing recommendations for the project Maintain an organized documentation of cost history, establishing cost breakdowns by region, project & division. Analyze historical project data for application to current projects Conceptual estimating/preconstruction Review scope definition & prepare quality survey or take off Identify critical issues that may impact cost sensitive areas Initiate inquiries for prices from sub trades and suppliers Compensation: 1.
