DESCRIPTION
Job Summary
The Superintendent of Facilities manages the Buildings and Grounds Department to ensure the safety and comfort of employees, visitors and students throughout campus. It is the responsibility of this position to oversee outside contracted services. The Superintendent works with service partners to ensure cleanliness of the campus and the physical plant is in proper working condition.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates the efforts to maintain a safe, clean working environment and ensures a safe environment for employees, visitors and students.
Ensures compliance with standards as set forth by Hilbert College, local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
Integrates and promotes Franciscan values of integrity, honesty, respect, hope, and compassion into daily activities as assigned.
Works cooperatively with the staff and faculty of Hilbert College.
Manages day-to-day operations of the Building and Grounds Department.
Performs daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance check of the building, grounds and facilities .
Provides continuous quality improvement within Building and Grounds Department.
Recommends alterations to Building and Grounds Department to meet the growing needs of the campus.
Is responsible for budget development and adherence.
Seeks opportunities to gain efficiency and competitively procure campus utilities.
Responds to requests for emergency repairs and hazard remediation.
Provides assistance to Administration in long term physical plant planning.
Provides material resource procurement to all departments.
Oversight of Risk Management efforts throughout campus.
Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment as appropriate.
Other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
Must be able to efficiently lead assigned staff.
Must be able to plan future needs and responsibilities.
Must be able to generate written and oral reports.
Must have fundamental knowledge of all building trades.
Must be able to read and interpret blue prints.
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job including: moving objects, working in cramped quarters, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, climbing inside and outside of building and working in both hot and cold environments to accomplish related tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Five years' experience managing in the building and grounds arena.
Valid Driver's License.
Compensation: $70,000 - $75,000
This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and organizational needs.
