JOB PURPOSE:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Purchasing Manager & Team Lead to oversee and drive our Advanced Purchasing US operation(s). This position involves leading a team of up to 10 professionals and managing comprehensive commodity and supplier strategies, as well as the daily purchasing activities for all commodities in the US. The role is instrumental in ensuring effective cost management, risk management, and strategic sourcing aligned with organizational objectives..
Key Responsibilities include the following (others duties may be assigned as needed) :
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of up to 10 purchasing professionals.
- Drive continuous improvement in purchasing processes and foster a culture of high performance and accountability.
- Strategic Commodity Management:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive bidders’ lists and execute strategic supplier management for all part families.
- Oversee the development and implementation of commodity and supplier strategies.
- Cost and Project Management:
- Manage new project costs, sourcing, and development from inception to Start of Production (SOP).
- Lead cost engineering efforts and establish target/standard cost management practices.
- Advanced Supply Chain and Risk Management:
- Implement advanced supply chain risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions.
- Stay informed on market conditions, anticipate changes, and recommend proactive measures.
- Innovation and Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for cost and process improvements through detailed analysis of cost drivers.
- Introduce and integrate new technical developments in materials to support organizational goals.
- Budget and Capacity Oversight:
- Responsible for overseeing a purchasing capacity of over $500 million.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field is required
- MBA / Certified Purchasing Manager preferred
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, cost management, and supplier relationship management.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Working Conditions: This position typically operates in an office environment. Occasional travel may be required for visiting suppliers in overseas, domestic as well as Mando global sites.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Occasional lifting of items up to 20 lbs.
- Frequent walking, standing, and bending as needed to perform duties.
Remote Work: Not Eligible for Hybrid Remote Work Schedule
