Mechanical Engineer III

Kforce has an enterprise client that is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III in Redmond, WA.

Summary:We're looking for an outstanding mechanical engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be responsible for developing 3D and 2D mechanical design and related analysis and documentation specifically for fixturing and tooling systems. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in mechanical engineering suited for both prototype and production level designs. The Engineer provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, and will also be reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements.* BSc in Mechanical Engineering

• 5+ years of experience with CAD
• 5+ years of experience with design and development of hardware at scale (High End Optics and Precision Mechanisms desired)
• 5+ years of experience with development, test, deployment of military/aerospace systems
• Proficiency with NX, TeamCenter
• Experience in DFA, DFM and manufacturing process development, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials
• Experience with specifying/justifying margins and test sequences, and qualifying military/aerospace systems
• Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis
• Experience with production fixturing and tooling
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred:

• Ability to lead interdisciplinary discussions between Hardware, Reliability, and Firmware teams to define and drive scope and clarity of work, and reach optimum system level trade-offs
• Strong time and task management skills with consistent attention to detail
• Experience with the use of engineering project management software such as JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile tools
