HVAC Mechanical Design Project Engineer
Join a well-established and respected Engineering Consulting firm based in Bohemia, NY , as a Mechanical Design Project Engineer .
In this role, youll take full ownership of HVAC and MEP design projects forinstitutional and government clientsfrom concept through construction.
Youll be hands-on with everything from load calculations and AutoCAD design to field inspections and project management.

Location : Bohemia, NY (On-Site) Industry : Engineering Consulting (HVAC/MEP Design)Key Responsibilities
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems for institutional/government projects
- Perform load calculations, site surveys, and field inspections
- Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings and schematics
- Ensure compliance with NYS Energy, Mechanical, and Building Codes, and NFPA standards
- Manage projects from design through construction
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Respond to RFIs, submittals, and support construction administration
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 4+ years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering (HVAC/Plumbing)
- 4+ years of AutoCAD design experience
- Strong knowledge of NYS codes and NFPA standards
- Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
- EIT or PE certification
- Experience with project estimating
- Familiarity with writing book specifications
- Proficiency in additional design tools (e.g., Revit, Trane Trace)

Work Environment
- Location : Fully on-site in Bohemia, NY
- Schedule : Office-based with weekly site visits (may increase based on project needs)
