General Laborer Job Description This position is located in the mill area, where you will be responsible for processing cabinets before assembly. You will run pieces of wood through a machine that cuts them according to specifications and verify measurements using a tape measure. All measurements are done in inches. Once verified, you will transport the cabinets to the assembly area. You may also receive cross-training in assembly, which involves drilling and screwing hardware in place. Operating a sanding machine to smooth the wood may also be required. Responsibilities Operate machinery to cut wood according to specifications. Verify measurements using a tape measure. Essential Skills Experience using a tape measure. Basic addition and subtraction in inches. Ability to bend, kneel, and lift 50 lbs. consecutively throughout the day. Reliability and ability to work overtime. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus. Carpentry or furniture assembly experience is a plus. Why Work Here? The team-oriented environment requires self-efficiency, and you should be comfortable working alongside Spanish-speaking colleagues. The majority of openings are in the Mill Department, with potential involvement in other departments such as finishing, assembly, and painting. The standard shift is Monday to Friday, 2:30pm - 11:15pm, with initial training on the 1st shift 5am - 2:45pm. Overtime is mandatory when required, and attire includes closed-toed shoes, safety glasses, and back support if available. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, California. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.00/hr.
