Caterpillar Inc. seeks Design Engineer at its facility located at 875 W Cushing Street, Tucson AZ 85745.

Design, develop, build, and implement new components, products, or technologies. Research new materials and competitive products. Organize, coordinate, and execute the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes. Assist supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance. Oversee the efforts of drafting and testing specialists. Develop and document functional requirements and translating into detail design documents. Participate in buy-build analysis for product components. Participate in and support proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports. Telecommuting: 2 days/week. 10% domestic travel to Caterpillar facilities.

REQS: This position requires a bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field plus 3 years of experience in Electrical integration of heavy equipment for cabs/operator environments or related occupation. In the alternative will also accept masters degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of experience in Electrical integration of heavy equipment for cabs/operator environments or related occupation.

Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) 2 years of experience in electrical engineering design and electrical troubleshooting; (2) 2 years of experience with Electric lines Creo Structured Design Procedure (SDP); (3) 2 years of experience with Teamcenter Visualization; (4) 2 years Teamcenter tools/process experience; (5) Mechanical design concepts; such as statics, dynamics, bolted joints, effects of torque, and reading part prints; (6) Electrical systems including reading schematics; (7) Troubleshooting electrical systems; (8) Design, analysis, or test experience on wiring installations and electrical systems; and (9) Harness and cable manufacturing methods.

SUMMARY PAY RANGE :

$102,128.00 143,520.00
