We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Dirt Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating earthwork and grading costs for commercial, residential, and public infrastructure projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and soils reports to determine materials, labor, equipment, and time requirements for successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
-Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate dirt and grading takeoffs.
-Calculate cut and fill quantities, import/export needs, and balance site grading.
-Estimating software (e.g., Agtek, Bid2Win(B2W) for earthwork computations.
-Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and surveyors to ensure accurate bids.
-Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing for materials and services.
-Prepare detailed cost estimates, bid proposals, and scope of work descriptions.
-Identify potential risks, constructability issues, and value engineering options.
-Attend pre-bid meetings and perform site visits to understand existing conditions.
-Track and maintain historical cost data and assist with project budgets and schedules.
-Support handoff of estimates to operations teams after project award.
