We're seeking a highly skilled Construction Controller to lead and oversee all accounting and financial functions and play a key strategic role in supporting continued growth and operational success. Position Summary: The Construction Controller will be responsible for managing the accounting operations of the company, including production of financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and oversight of a comprehensive set of controls and budgets. This role ensures accuracy and compliance with GAAP and supports construction-specific financial needs, including WIP schedules, job costing, and billing. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, payroll, general ledger, and job cost accounting Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reports Manage job costing, budgets, and WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedules Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax laws and regulations Collaborate with project managers to monitor project performance and financial status Review contracts and ensure appropriate revenue recognition Support external audits and manage relationships with CPA firms and banks Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 in a construction environment Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, including job costing and WIP reporting Experience with accounting systems such as Sage 300, Viewpoint, or Foundation Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability Excellent communication and leadership skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment What We Offer: Competitive salary and bonus structure Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Generous PTO and paid holidays Opportunities for growth and development All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
