Welder

Spherion has teamed up with a respected local manufacturer in Lake Crystal, and we're currently hiring for welder positions on 1st shift! This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in creating high-quality metal products. As a welder, you'll be responsible for reading blueprints, setting up equipment, and performing MIG welding to assemble parts according to specifications. We're looking for dependable individuals with previous experience as a welder, or those who have completed relevant training and are ready to apply their skills in a production setting. 1st Shift: Monday through Thursday, 5:45AM-4:15PM + overtime on Friday's

Responsibilities:
Reliable and consistent attendance is essential to ensure we meet production demands and customer expectations.
Must have the ability to perform basic math skills necessary for measuring, assembling, and effective problem-solving.
Must be able to demonstrate welding proficiency, with the ability to make equipment adjustments and read blueprints and detailed instructions.
Must be physically capable of manually handling materials up to 50 lbs. through regular physical activity, including lifting, climbing, bending, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
Must be able to use overhead hoists, which requires the ability to push and pull up to 100 lbs.
Ability to stand and work in various positions for extended periods; work surfaces include concrete floors, ladders, and inside dump bodies.
Comfortable with reading blueprints, using measuring tools, and entering data using basic computer systems.
Must be a team player and willing to collaborate with coworkers and other departments to achieve production goals.
Willingness to learn and operate multiple machines or jigs, with the flexibility to rotate between tasks based on job schedules, team needs, or safety requirements.

Skills:
A strong ability to learn new tasks and concepts quickly, with a willingness to grow and adapt in a hands-on environment
At least 2 years of experience in a fabrication setting, including skills in drilling, welding, and the use of various hand tools
A high level of attention to detail and accuracy to ensure quality workmanship
Proven ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), as well as uphold strict quality and safety standards
Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines
Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team

Qualifications:
Previous welding experience required; familiarity with MIG or TIG welding is a plus
Must be able to pass company-administered welding certifications
Proficient in using handheld measuring tools such as tape measures, combination squares, and other precision instruments
Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds frequently and perform physical tasks as part of the daily workflow
